Poultney Man Sentenced in Fatal Hit & Run

Rutland, Vermont - August 19, 2008

A Poultney man pleaded guilty Tuesday and was sentenced for killing an elderly man in a hit and run accident.

Brent Poczobut, 22, pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal accident and gross negligent operation. Police say last summer he struck and killed Paul Delorenzi, 74, as Delorenzi walked across a bridge on the Thrall Road in Poultney.

Poczobut was sentenced to serve 2 years in prison.
