Visiting the Ausable Area

Ausable, New York - August 21, 2008

Want to visit Ausable Chasm at night like reporter Keagan Harsha did in his story, Destination Recreation: Ausable Chasm?

The lantern tour costs $20 a person. The tour is about two hours long and does include a lot of walking. Daytime admission to the park's trails cost $16 a person for adults, $9 for children. You can also tube or raft the Ausable River for an additional $9 a person. There is a campground nearby for anyone wishing to stay the night after the lantern tour. If you haven't visited Ausable Chasm before, we recommend visiting during the day prior to the lantern tour so that you will have an idea of what the canyon looks like.
