BURLINGTON, VT -- The UVM men's basketball team has landed a new recruit for the Class of 2013.
Luke Apfeld, a 6'7" wing player who is attending Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, has verbally accepted a scholarship offer to play at the University of Vermont.
Luke is currently recovering from a knee injury that will likely cost him part of his senior season, but last year, Apfeld helped lead Brewster to the New England Prep School Class A championship and a school record 31 wins. A top AAU player, Apfeld also received interest from the Ivy and Patriots Leagues as well as George Washington.
Apfeld is the second member of this year's recruting class, joining center Ben Crenca. Vermont has two more scholarships available. This coming season tips off on Sunday, November 2nd with a preseason matchup against Concordia at Patrick Gym.
