2 Days, 2 Recruits for UVM Hoop

Monday, September 29th

BURLINGTON, VT -- It was been a productive two days for the UVM men's basketball team.

Sunday, the Cats received a verbal commitment from Brendan Bald, a 6-foot-3-inch guard from Severna Park, Maryland.

Monday, Channel Three Sports learned that Vermont has landed its fourth and final recruit for the 2009-2010 season.

Simeon Marsalis has given the UVM men's hoop team a verbal commitment to accept a basketball scholarship.  A 6'1" point guard, Marsalis is entering a post graduate year at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, where he will be a teammate of another UVM recruit, Luke Apfeld.

Last season, Marsalis scored 13.5 points a game as a senior at New Rochelle High School in New Rochelle, New York. His team reached the New York Section 1 semifinals. Marsalis is the son of famous jazz muscian Wynton Marsalis. Simeon completes the Cats draft class that includes Apfeld, Bald and center Ben Crenca.
