Where You Can Go Ski Joring

New London, New Hampshire - January 29, 2009

Want to go ski joring like reporter Keagan Harsha did in his story: Destination Recreation: Ski Joring?

The North East Ski Joring Association will be holding a competition this weekend on the Colby-Sawyer campus in New London, N.H., which is a two hour drive from Burlington. The event starts at noon and will take place on the field behind the Ivey Science Center at 541 Main Street.

Another competition will be held the weekend of February 14-15 in Newport, N.H., and later this winter at the Quebec City winter carnival.

NESJA also holds clinics throughout the year to teach beginners how to participate in the sport. The group also welcomes phone calls from anyone wanting more information. To learn more about ski joring and the New England Ski Joring Association just click on the link below:

Ski joring is a nationally sanctioned event. About 10 major races are held across the country every year. Organizers hope to one day hold a North American Championship.
