Vermont long-term care facilities announce new COVID cases
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont health officials continue to track outbreaks at a number of long-term care facilities.
At Rutland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, two more residents have tested positive for COVID-19, adding to the total of 28 confirmed cases among residents and 15 staff members infected. Five residents have died there and testing is ongoing.
Another Burlington nursing home is grappling with a COVID-19 case. Elderwood at Burlington says one resident tested positive for the virus and was taken to the hospital. Test results are pending for three staff members who are currently quarantining. The facility is now stopping all in-person visitation until further notice. The Health Department says the situation is not considered an outbreak at this time.
An outbreak at Four Seasons Care Home in Northfield had a total of 38 cases as of Tuesday.
