BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont has another lawsuit now over where kids go to school.

Attorneys from the Liberty Justice Center filed the suit over what they call unequal access to education.

Many communities use public dollars to pay for K-12 students. Some of those towns have their own schools, but some don’t.

Now a new lawsuit says all Vermont children should benefit from public school choice and not be required to go to the school in their town or city and still have it paid for.

The families being represented in the suit say the schools where they live don’t fill their needs. That includes a 15-year-old boy who requires a wheelchair and assistance. His family says he thrives in an independent school.
