Burlington scales up COVID vaccination clinic
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger says the city’s only vaccination clinic took extra patients on Wednesday to make up for Tuesday’s storm cancellations.
Weinberger says the clinic was sets set to give out 160-doses Wednesday-- more than usual.
He says in two weeks when people return for their second doses, the clinic’s capacity will double to seeing 300 people a day.
“That kind of scaling is expected to take place around the state and then the other sort of scaling I noted in the governor’s press conference yesterday, we are seeing an incremental increase in the total number of vaccines being distributed and that is good news,” said Weinberger, D-Burlington.
Weinberger says the system is being designed to be able to scale up when more doses arrive.
This is week two of vaccine distribution for people 75 and older in Vermont.
