2 dead, 1 hospitalized in I-89 head-on crash in Sharon

SHARON, Vt. (WCAX) - Two Northfield residents are dead following a head-on crash in Sharon Tuesday afternoon.

It happened on Interstate 89 near Exit 2. Vermont State Police say Nicholas Tarr, 37, of South Royalton, was in the southbound lanes when he lost control and crossed over the median, hitting a northbound car head-on.

The driver of the other car, Gail Parent, 60, and her passengerm Victor Parent Jr., 94, both of Northfield, died from their injuries. Tarr was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with serious injuries.

The crash is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the police.
