ELIZABETHTOWN, N.Y. (WCAX) - Essex County, New York, is going on 10 consecutive days without a new COVID case.

Essex County Health Department officials say there is a direct correlation between the drop in cases and the increasing percentage of the community that’s been vaccinated.

As of Wednesday, 66.5% of those 18 and older are partially vaccinated.

As of Thursday, Essex County had a total of 1,642 confirmed cases and 27 deaths.
