Swanton Police say a man and a woman walked into the store when the clerk was in a back room. The man went behind the counter and grabbed the cash drawer from the register. The clerk returned and tried to stop him. That’s when police say both suspects started physically fighting the clerk, who defended himself.
The man then dropped the cash tray and both suspects took off empty-handed.
Police are asking the public for help identifying the pair. The man is described as white and he was wearing all black with a black hooded sweatshirt and gray/blue athletic shoes. The woman is also described as white, about 5′9″-5′11″ and she was wearing a white sport-style jacket with a hood, pink pajama pants with a Mickey Mouse pattern and Birkenstock-style sandals. Anyone with information is asked to call the Swanton Village Police at 802-868-4100.
