Jess Langlois was born and raised in southern New Hampshire, where she developed a love for weather in elementary school. By 4th grade, she almost exclusively watched the Weather Channel, spending hours staring at radar loops and recording her favorite Local on the 8s songs on a tape recorder.
She went on to earn a B.S. in Atmospheric Science and an A.S. in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from Northern Vermont University - Lyndon. During that time, she interned at WCVB-TV in Boston and right here at WCAX.
She started her career at WQOW-TV in Eau Claire, WI as a meteorologist and multimedia journalist before joining the team at WCAX. During her two years in Wisconsin, Jess covered all of the extremes the Midwest has to offer, including several tornadoes. She joined the weather team as WCAX's First at Four Meteorologist in June 2021. You will see her filling in or out in the field during other newscasts too.
Outside of work, Jess loves spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking, taking pictures and simply immersing herself in the fresh air. She is passionate about the environment and sustainability. Jess loves to cook and likes trying new recipes (some may say she enjoys sweets a little too much). She is obsessed with her 13-year-old cat named Frisky. Jess also loves the performing arts, and you can find her belting in the car or quietly tap dancing under her desk.
Jess is so excited to be back home in New England, where she can forecast for and enjoy all four seasons of wild weather and the way it shapes our breathtaking landscapes.
