Vermont bump-stock deadline Monday
Vermont owners of gun bump-stocks have until Monday to anonymously drop them off at collection sites at ten Vermont state police barracks.
As of Monday it will be illegal to own a bump stock in Vermont, so police are asking people to voluntarily have them destroyed. They can be dropped off today between 8 to 4 in evening.
Police say they don't expect many drop-offs. Possession of a bump-fire stock is punishable by up to one year in prison and $1,000 thousand in fines.
Police stress that owners should not bring a gun into a barracks. Detach the bump stock and only bring that.
