2 injured after car crashes into Amish buggy

LISBON, N.Y. (WCAX) Two St. Lawrence County, New York, Amish men were hurt Monday after their horse-drawn buggy was hit by a car.

It happened on Route 68 in the town of Lisbon. Police say a car driven by Tyler Amo, 26, of Canton, was headed southeast when it rear-ended the Amish buggy, ejecting the two passengers. One of the victims, a 17-year-old, was later transported to the UVM Medical Center with head injuries. He is listed in stable condition.

The horse was euthanized.

There's no word about any charges against the driver.

It's the second crash in recent weeks in the area involving a buggy. On Nov. 29, Jacob Hershberger died after his buggy was struck from behind by a car in Ogdensburg.
