7 Vt. communities win grants to spruce up downtowns

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) Seven Vermont communities get to share the first round of Main Street Grants worth $85,000.

The big winners are: Wilmington, which is getting $25,000 to renovate part of Twin Valley High School; St. Johnsbury will use $20,000 to spruce up Depot Square Park; and St. Albans is getting $15,000 to renovate City Hall Auditorium.

The grants are funded by the National Life Group Foundation and the Vermont Community Foundation. Beth Rusnock is the president of the National Life Group Foundation. She told our Eva McKend more about the grants and how they will be used. Watch the video for the full interview.
