7-year-old NY boy hospitalized in Amish buggy collision

LISBON, N.Y. (WCAX) A 7-year-old New York boy is in critical condition after the Amish buggy he was riding in was struck from behind by a pickup truck.

It happened Wednesday evening in the town of Lisbon. Police say the buggy was headed west on Route 10 when it was hit from behind, ejecting the two occupants, John D. Miller, 30, and Levi J. Miller, 7, both of Lisbon. John was treated and released but Levi remains in critical condition with a head injury.

There's no word yet about charges against the driver of the pickup, James Crobar, 28, of Heuvelton.

It's the third serious crash in recent months in the area involving a buggy. On Nov. 29, Jacob Hershberger died after his buggy was struck from behind by a car in Ogdensburg.
