Lawmakers are debating whether to update Vermont's land-use policy, and they want to hear from the public.

With the final Act 250 public forum scheduled for Wednesday, the Vermont Natural Resources Council is holding a webinar Monday in preparation.

The goal is to tell people all about Act 250, which became law in 1970. It was designed to deal with the effects of development in the Green Mountains and some say it needs to be upgraded to deal with concerns like climate change.

The final forum Wednesday gives people a chance to voice their opinions. The VNRC says that if you cannot attend, you can fill out a survey or send an email with your thoughts.

Wednesday's meeting will be from 6-8 p.m. at the Burlington Elks Lodge.
