Autopsy: Austin Colson shot in the head
A teen whose body was found in a Vermont barn after he had been missing for months was shot in the head. Austin Colson's death certificate lists him as a homicide victim.
Colson, 19, was last seen in January. He was going to collect scrap metal. But the South Royalton teen disappeared. His remains were finally found two weeks ago in a barn in Norwich.
For months, Vermont State Police called Colson's friend Richard Whitcomb a suspect in the disappearance. But when we asked them about the case last week, they didn't use the word suspect and said instead that they want to speak with many people of interest.
In a press release Monday evening, police said the investigation into Colson's death is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the barracks in Royalton at 802-234-9933.
