BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) A Barre man linked to at least two fatal overdose deaths and the robbery of a convenience store has been sentenced to serve five to 10 years in prison.
The Times Argus reports Jacob Rillo, 25, was sentenced Tuesday in Washington County criminal court. Authorities say Rillo supplied heroin laced with fentanyl that led to the 2016 overdose death of Jessie Boardman, 26, of Chelsea. He was caught after selling drugs to undercover officers.
Rillo still faces charges for another drug-related death that allegedly killed Jesse Kampen, 23, of Brookfield in February 2017.
The newspaper reports Rillo apologized to Boardman's family and that his lawyer told the court he was caught in a loop of selling drugs to feed his own addiction.
