BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) A Burlington landmark celebrated an anniversary Wednesday-- Beansie's Bus is celebrating its 73rd summer.
You've probably seen it parked right at the top of Battery Park by the police station. The food bus has been a Burlington summertime staple since 1944, dishing up street food classics like hamburgers and hot dogs. After visiting the bus for years, the new owner, Chris Corron, says he is happy to be a part of the tradition.
"It's an honor because, for one thing, it's all about family. You meet a lot of different people. And we grew up in the Burlington area and Beansie's has always been a tradition. It's one of those things that's been around forever," Corron said.
To celebrate the anniversary Wednesday, the bus served free french fries and had giveaways all day. Corron said with the limited space on the bus, he plans to keep the menu the same.
