BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) A controversial plan to re-do Burlington's City Hall park got the green light.
Some residents raised concerns about the design plan because it means cutting down dozens of mature trees. They argued the trees are historic, healthy and add to the beauty of the park. But the city arborist says many of the trees are dying and would have to come down anyway.
Fourteen smaller trees will be planted as part of the new design. The Development Review Board gave the plan official approval Tuesday night.
