BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) Many may notice a small detour if you're on the bike path by Burlington's North Shore.
The Burlington Parks and Recreation Department has finished up construction for the season as part of phase two of the improvement plan. This week crews installed a stone wall where people will be able to rest and look out onto Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. The department will also be replacing the stairs leading to the waterfront which were burned a while back.
"There will be metal railings, but they will have wood tread, so it's one where it will be a little bit easier to replace and hopefully we won't have that happen again as far as vandalism of the folks burning the stairs," said the department's Cindi Wight.
Construction will start back up again in the spring.
