BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) Burlington residents will be voting on whether to spend more money on emergency response in the Queen City.
On Tuesday night, the Burlington City Council unanimously voted to pass a public safety tax increase. This means it will be up for a vote on the March ballot.
The money would be used to fund the city’s third ambulance and hire nine new firefighters.
Burlington's mayor says the amount of increase isn't final but could end up being 3.5%.
