BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) Burlington school teachers have a new contract for the next school year.
The deal was ratified by the Burlington School Board in a unanimous vote Thursday night.
The contract is for the 2019-2020 school year.
It includes an average salary increase of 3.5 percent and expanded health reimbursement arrangement accounts and support for teachers.
In a statement, Burlington School Superintendent Yaw Obeng said he is pleased with the decision.
"I am encouraged to know that the Burlington School District and the BEA will be entering into next school year with a collaboratively negotiated contract," said Obeng.
The deal will be posted online in a few days.
