Cannabis convention in South Burlington

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) Sunday marked the last day of Vermont's first major cannabis and hemp convention.

About 60 vendors displayed their products for hundreds of guests throughout the weekend. CBD candies and other products were featured to test and buy. There were also different displays and seminars on how to grow cannabis. Vendors say they are hopeful they can include THC, the chemical that gets you high, in their products in the future.

"Right now it's only legal to have 0.3 percent THC, but if we could have higher levels, the benefits would be so much more amazing for people," said Michele Wildflower of Nature's Mysteries Apothecary.

Starting July 1, marijuana will be legalized in Vermont. People over the age of 21 can have up to an ounce of weed and grow a few plants.
