WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) A car consumed by fire shut down a Williston road and police say the driver ran away.
Officers responded to a report of a car in flames on South Brownell Road last night after it ran into a telephone pole, they learned the driver ran away.
Two passengers of the car reported the driver, Kimberly Donovan of Barre, left with her boyfriend and her 9-year-old child.
They came back 30 minutes later and Donovan was placed into custody for DUI.
She was also charged with leaving the scene, gross negligent operation and cruelty to a child.
Two telephone poles had to be replaced.
The roadway has since been opened up.
