GEORGIA, Vt. (WCAX) A Colchester man says he's not guilty of leading police on a chase Tuesday from St. Albans to Georgia.
In court Wednesday, Bernard Wells, 48, denied multiple charges, including DUI, eluding police and unlawful restraint.
Police say Tuesday night, they responded to the Mill River Road area for someone possibly driving drunk. Officers tried to stop the car but the say Wells drove off. They say he eventually stopped and ran from police around Robert Newton Road in Georgia.
A passenger in the car was not hurt but police say Wells would not let her out.
