Do Vermont's child welfare systems need oversight?

Lawmakers and advocates are calling on the state of Vermont to create a new position to protect children.

Last week a new bill was unveiled that would create an Office of the Child Advocate. The legislation is designed to provide independent and impartial oversight of the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.

Galen Ettlin spoke with Amy Brady with Voice for Vermont's Children, one of the groups in favor of this bill.
