Essex police to donate funds from 'No Shave' November to food shelf
Essex police officers who sported beards on the job for the first time now are clean-shaven and are donating hundreds to Essex Junction's only food shelf Wednesday.
The Essex Police Department has never allowed members to wear beards before, but let officers participate in a "No Shave" November initiative.
Those who participated agreed to make a donation to Aunt Dot's Place.
About $1,700 is now being donated to Aunt Dot's.
