Vermont man's obituary calls for waiting period to buy guns
A Vermont family's tragedy is turning into a call for action.
Andrew Black died Dec. 6 at his home in Essex. The 23-year-old was an employee at Lawson's Finest Liquids and loved the outdoors.
In his obituary, his family asks people to consider lobbying representatives with these words: "In honor of Andrew R. Black, we ask that you work for legislation that imposes a reasonable waiting period between firearm purchase and possession to provide a cooling off period to guard against impulsive acts of violence."
Our Cat Viglienzoni is speaking with the family about their message. You can hear from them Tuesday on the Channel 3 News from 5-7 p.m.
