If you want to reward your dog for good behavior with a treat, consider something other than bones.

The FDA says it has received about 68 reports of pet illnesses and even deaths related to bone treats. About 15 dogs have died of the illnesses. Dozens more have been adversely affected.

These treats differ from uncooked, butcher-type bones because they are processed and packaged for sale as dog treats. Some symptoms include choking, cuts and wounds in the mouth or on the tonsils and vomiting.
