Crews respond to early morning fire at Burlington liquor store
An early morning fire damaged a Burlington liquor store on Wednesday.
Multiple fire crews responded to the Pearl Street Beverage in Burlington just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.
There was heavy damage to the storefront but the fire was contained mostly to the interior and roof. Crews got the fire under control just after 4 a.m
The Lakeside Pharmacy, which is next to the beverage store, suffered smoke damage.
Investigators say an electrical issue sparked the fire.
Burlington Fire Chief Steven Locke stopped short of calling the building a total loss Wednesday morning but said it most likely will need a new roof structure. He estimated the damage with all it's content to exceed a million dollars.
No one was injured.
