BERLIN, Vt. (WCAX) No word yet on the cause of a fire that damaged a spa in Berlin, Vermont.

Berlin Fire Chief Jeremie Dufresne said when crews arrived at the Sundara Day Spa Sunday night, they found heavy smoke coming from the back and middle of the building.

There was a family living upstairs and they were able to get out safely.

The chief says there was a lot of inside damage but the building is not considered a total loss.

"There was fire and smoke damage, on the first floor, and obviously water damage," Dufresne said.

WCAX News reached out to Vermont State Police fire investigators to find out the cause of the fire but we had not yet heard back when this story was published.
