WILLIAMSTOWN, Vt. (WCAX) A fire at a Williamstown storage business has damaged more than two dozen units.

Fire Chief William Graham says the Bridge Street Storage Units on Industry Street were heavily damaged in a fire Tuesday afternoon. He says it damaged about 30 of the 60 units. There was no reported injuries.

Graham says the cause of the blaze is still under investigation, but workers were paving around the units earlier in the day. He said heavy smoke blowing toward a senior home caused some concern. Multiple towns in central Vermont responded to help fight the fire and go through the storage units.

"Most of central Vermont. Due to the hot weather not enough bodies around. We had to call in for a lot of extra help. Multiple, multiple storage units that we need to go through. Right now we've got the fire contained, but extensive overhaul and that's where we need the help," Chief Graham said.

He says his department will work with fire investigators to determine the cause.
