BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) A former Norwich University student who claimed she was raped in her dorm room by another student has reached a confidential settlement with the military school.
A "stipulation of dismissal" of the case was filed by attorneys for Lauren Morrissey and the university this week in federal court.
The 19-year-old told WCAX News last year that she was suing the school because she believed the assault could have been prevented.
"The school definitely knows that he was harassing women and they didn't warn any other women on campus. They didn't discipline him the way that they should have," Morrissey said.
She said she'd rather settle medical and tuition expenses than go to court. Most of all, she said she wanted to make sure the school is protecting all students.
Norwich University officials had no comment about the confidential settlement.
