The former co-principal at Randolph Union High School now faces criminal charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

Detectives with the Orange County Special Investigations unit Tuesday officially charged David Barnett, 50. Authorities say they received a report from the school late last year that Barnett had an "inappropriate relationship" with a student, and that after a lengthy investigation he was cited to appear in court April 25.

The Waitsfield man has been on paid administrative leave since late last year after the allegations surfaced. The Orange Southwest School District at the time declined to reveal the nature of the student's allegations.
