ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) New York schools are getting some help. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced $1.5 million available to school districts through the state's farm-to-school program.
The program links New York farmers and their foods to kids in schools. Funding not only goes to food but also training and staffing to make sure individual school food services have what they need.
New York schools can still apply to get grants.
The deadline is Nov. 7.
