Group to press Leahy, Senate on election security

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) A coalition of grassroots organizations say they plan to gather outside of Sen. Patrick Leahy's office Tuesday to call for more election security.

According to the group, the U.S. House passed a law that gave $600 million to upgrade voting systems across the country, but the Senate did not. Group members say they and others across the country are using thjis day of action to push the Senate to act.

Sen. Leahy has said he supports the measure and blames Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell for preventing the bill from coming up for a vote.

They group will be meeting on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m.
