Judge rules in favor of Burlington over homeless camp
A federal judge has ruled the city of Burlington can shut down a homeless camp.
Police warned residents of the North Avenue encampment earlier this month that the camp would be shut down.
But the ACLU's lawyers said the city was violating their constitutional rights with threats of trespassing charges and seizure of their personal property and asked a judge to intervene.
Friday the judge disagreed and said the city's actions were not penalizing people simply for being homeless.
