SPRINGFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) Police say a tractor-trailer driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his rig on Interstate 91 near Springfield early Friday.
Troopers responded around 3:15 a.m. near mile marker 44. They say Thomas Moore, 59, of Connecticut, was headed northbound when he fell asleep and went into the median, hitting a large patch of boulders. The truck had extensive damage. Moore was not injured.
The northbound lanes were closed for about six hours while crews cleaned up the mess.
