Listeria found in raw milk cheese produced by Rutland County farm

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) A farm in West Pawlet has stopped all production and shipment of product until further notice.

This comes after a deadly bacteria was found in the raw milk cheese at Consider Bardwell Farm.

The Vermont Agriculture Agency says the listeria was discovered before the cheese made it to market.

But according to the farms website, they're asking customers to stop selling all cheeses for right now.

The results of an investigation into the facility are expected by Thursday.

Ag officials tells us they are working to determine if the affected cheese came into contact with anything else at the farm.
