SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) South Burlington police arrested a Vermont man who thought a cruiser was a pizza delivery car.
Police were investigating public complaints about suspicious activity at a unit at Stonehedge condos early Sunday morning.
Michael Gonzalez, 29, of Underhill, approached the marked police car. Police said Gonzalez thought his pizza had arrived.
Officers learned he had an active arrest warrant for careless and negligent operation in Franklin County, Vermont. Police say they found a misdemeanor amount of suspected heroin and ecstasy on Gonzalez while arresting him.
Officers said they found a second resident inside the condo who had an active arrest warrant.
William Russell, 29, of Shelburne, was wanted on a petty larceny charge.
Gonzalez and Russell were brought to Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility.
Gonzalez was cited to appear in court April 2 for the possession of heroin and possession of controlled substances.
