Ten people are homeless following an early morning fire in Morrisville.

A dozen fire departments responded to Laporte Road around 3 a.m. for a barn fire. Ten people were in an apartment building connected to the barn and got out OK. The home was partially destroyed and it's unclear if all those people will be able to move back in. The Red Cross was assisting victims.

"When PD got here, it was fully involved and spreading to the house," said Morrisville Fire Chief Shawn Goodell. He says about six goats were in the barn during the fire.

Firefighters say a shed on the property was also destroyed. Investigators are determining what sparked the fire.

Route 100 was shut down for a couple of hours.
