A Berlin, New Hampshire, man is dead following a chain reaction crash caused by icy conditions Tuesday morning.
It happened on Route 2 in Randolph around 6 a.m. Police say two pickup trucks headed west pulled over near Gorham Hill after encountering slippery ice on the road.
They say a short time later a tractor trailer headed the opposite direction lost control and struck one pickup truck head-on, pushing it backward into the other one.
Police say Leo Croteau, 20, a passenger in the pickup, tried to get out and run away from the approaching truck, but was struck and killed.
Route 2 was shut down for several hours.
