Juvenile charged in deadly NH double-shooting

ALTON, N.H. (AP) One person is dead and a juvenile is behind bars after a double-shooting in New Hampshire Friday.

Authorities say police were called to the home in Alton at about 7:30 a.m.

Inside, they found Lizette Eckert, 50, dead of a gunshot wound.

And they found James Eckert, 48, who had also been shot. He was rushed to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition Friday night.

After a search of the area, police took a juvenile suspect into custody at about 9:30 a.m. That person is charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. Because the suspect is a juvenile, officials say they can't release further information.

An autopsy on Lizette Eckert is tentatively scheduled for Saturday.
