NH police search or suspect who attacked homeowner, stole car

BELMONT, N.H. (AP) Police in New Hampshire are searching for a man who they say attacked a homeowner during a break-in and stole a car.

The Concord Monitor reports the incident happened Wednesday in Belmont. Police say the man was attacked when he returned home. Authorities say the suspect fled in the resident's car after a struggle.

Police pursued the suspect after he passed a Laconia courthouse. The officer stopped the pursuit "due to public safety concerns."

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call the Belmont Police Department.
