A New Hampshire beach hotel is asking the state to remove signs warning of Legionnaires' disease now that water tests have come up clean.

Hampton Sands Resort owner Tom Saab said Wednesday "there's no reason" for the state not to take down the signs. He says an environmental firm was hired to clean the water at the resort, and 43 test results came back negative for the Legionella bacteria this week.

The state Department of Health and Human Services previously said the bacteria was found in multiple places in the resort's water system, including the hot tub spa.

Fourteen people were confirmed to have contracted Legionnaires' disease between July and August, including one person who died.

A spokesman for the state department has not responded to a request for comment.
