Notorious NY prison escapee transferred

ATTICA, N.Y. (WCAX) An infamous prison escapee has been moved.

WCAX News has learned that David Sweat, who broke out of the Dannemora Prison in June 2015, has been transferred to Attica Correctional Facility.

Sweat and Richard Matt-- both convicted killers-- set off a three-week manhunt in the North Country after their daring escape. Matt was eventually shot and killed. Sweat was wounded near the Canadian Border.

Sweat ended up at Five Points Correctional Facility in Seneca County. But now he's being held at Attica.
