Naked man charged with assaulting moviegoers, police

Police say a naked man jumped on a Vermont State Police cruiser and began to kick in the windshield.
It happened Thursday night in Waitsfield when troopers responded to reports of a man acting erratically and assaulting people the Big Picture movie theater.
Charles Root, 40, of Weybridge, was taken into custody and police say he spit in a trooper's face. Officers say Root appeared "removed from the current reality."
Root pleaded not guilty to multiple charges Friday.
