MERIDEN, N.H. (WCAX) Imagine receiving an anonymous gift of $20 million with no strings attached. That's what happened to Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire.
The school's board of trustees laid out three priorities for the money. First is to make the school accessible to students. Second is to attract and retain the best teachers. And third, to enhance and upgrade buildings on campus.
"We are so humbled and grateful for this huge gift and what it does it shows the confidence that the community has in Kimball Union's education and what we can offer here," said David Weidman, the assistant head of school.
This is the largest single donation the boarding school has ever received in its 206-year history.
